History

History of EARTH

EARTH University was established in 1986 as a private, nonprofit, international university in partnership with the Costa Rican government, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Since 1990, EARTH University’sinternational faculty and innovative curriculum have provided students from more than 60 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond with a world-class scientific and technological education, emphasizing ethical entrepreneurship and socio-environmental commitment.

EARTH’s alumni have become agricultural, environmental, and entrepreneurial leaders in their home communities, while contributing to the construction of a sustainable and just global society.
